James established Helix Transport Consultants Ltd in 2010 to provide a specialist transport planning and highway engineering service to the private developer.

Successful transport planning is about more than junction designs and capacity calculations, it’s about people; how they will use and access a development and what measures can be put in place to encourage sustainable travel choices.

All developments can benefit from planned transport links and those that are likely to result in significant travel will require a Transport Assessment (TA) or Transport Statement (TS) as part of the planning application.

At Helix we have a detailed understanding of the development process and work with our clients, and other members of the professional team to produce comprehensive solutions that balance the environmental, engineering, planning and affordability issues.
