Tim Smith is the Managing Director and Principal Ecologist at Five Valleys Ecology. He holds a First Class Honours Degree in Wildlife Conservation from the University of East London, and has worked exclusively for some of the most highly respected and influential organisations in the environmental, nature conservation and ecological consultancy sectors for over eight years. Before forming Five Valleys Ecology, Tim’s career included roles with the University of Oxford, the Environment Agency, Kent Wildlife Trust, English Nature, WWT Consulting, and Waterman Energy, Environment and Design.

Tim is highly skilled in client and stakeholder liaison, has a thorough knowledge of protected species legislation and relevant planning policy, together with very high standards of report writing. He is a full member of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM), and fully complies with the Institute’s Code of Professional Conduct and Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Five Valleys Ecology hold Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance policies, and yellow Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards.
